The Catholic Community of Waukesha is proud to support St. Vincent de Paul for our 2025 Almsgiving Collections.
“Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.” (Proverbs 22:2)
Our community is supporting our four St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) conferences this lent through monetary donations. All checks can be made out to St. Vincent de Paul with “CCWauk Lenten Alms” in the memo line, and turned into the collection baskets during Mass. You can also donate through PushPay. Click on your parish, choose St. Vincent de Paul fund, and write “Lenten Alms” in the memo line. We ask all monetary donations be submitted by Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to provide “personal service to the poor” and to enhance the spirituality of its members. The Society was founded in 1833 by the Blessed Frederich Ozanam Paris, France and has worked tirelessly to assist the needs of the poor for nearly 200 years. Some of our services include: food, rent, utility assistance and vouchers to the St. Vincent de Paul stores for clothing, furniture, and electronics; and emotional and spiritual support. Vincentian spirituality views the poor not as victims but as friends in need and thus two Vincentians visit each new friend to provide support and assess if there is more, we can do.

In Acts 20:35, Luke tells us, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” We ask for your prayers and support during this Lenten season that the work of St. Vincent de Paul may continue to achieve and spread its mission throughout our community.
